The results of the 2025 KCSE examination have officially been released by the Ministry of Education. 2025 KCSE candidates is the third last cohort of the 8-4-4 system, ahead of the competency based education curriculum. According to the ministry of education, 1,932 candidates scored a mean grade of A in the 2025 KCSE examination. 270,000 candidates out of 993,000 attained the mean grade of C+ and above, and eligible to pursue University degree courses in varied fields. 418 candidates cheated in the 2025 KCSE examination and their results were cancelled.   Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has adopted a new technology system to prevent exam cheating in KCSE examination. The technology has been deployed at the containers that store KCSE examination papers.  Smart padlock used to lock the containers relay real-time information when the container is opened and when it is being closed. This prevents any unathorized access to the container before or after the prescribed time. KNEC CEO David Njengere announced the adoption of the smart padlocks as 2025 KCSE exams kickedoff on Monday.
