  COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli has disclosed a highly classified detail on how President Uhuru Kenyatta might have his way back to presidency after the exhaustion of his two-term tenure limit in August 2022. The firebrand COTU boss has been reported on numerous occasions stating that Uhuru is too young to retire. Atwoli was speaking in a presser ahead of Labor Day celebrations, where he stated that the president can still contest for presidency after 10 years from his retirement. “President Uhuru’s labor day speech may not be the last one because he is retiring as a young person, he may stay for 10 years then be back in leadership, and it has happened in many countries in the world, so we can’t rule out President Uhuru cannot come back,” Atwoli said on Saturday. The Mt Kenya Foundation comprising of wealthy business moguls drawn from Central Kenya have endorsed his candidature ahead of his official declaration on December 10 th 2021. As 2022 succession battle gains momentum in Kenya, leaders drawn from Mt Kenya region have become more concerned of their political future and survival. Mt Kenya region is predominantly occupied by the agikuyu, ameru and aembu communities. The region has produced three out of the four presidents. It boosts about the tyranny of numbers, thus making the region a battle ground for leaders from other region seeking to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.  Central alone produced Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, Mwai Kibaki and Uhuru Kenyatta as presidents.
