The advent of social media has disrupted the natural social fabric that have existed for eons.  Individuals tend to know about other people's lifestyles more than their own.  Facebook, X(formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Instagram, Tik Tok are some of the commonly used social media sites.  Users often post images showing the world about their life progression.  In modern world reality, humanity is separate, only to be connected in the virtual space. Individuals are separate from their physical neighbours, but closely knighted to those who are far away through online linkages. Natural social life is fast losing its original lustre under the guise of modern influence. Neighborhood is fading at an alarming rate as humans are blinded under the illusion of being concerned about those who are far than those closer to them. In the current era, people prefer marrying through social media sites and dating apps. Individuals who rarely know each other physically, are formi...

Nanotechnology is redefining the rules of modern medicine. Scientific researchers have designed nanobots that specifically target and eliminate cancer cells, without harming healthy tissues. This futuristic advancements could evolve cancer treatment by eliminating side effects and enhance recovery. In this new dispensation of cancer treatment, machines smaller than a cell could be deployed to save lives  How Humans will defeat mortality In a recent argument by former Google engineer Ray Kurzweil, he predicted how humans could achieve biological immortality by the year 2030 owing to advancements in nanotechnology. Kurzweil envisages a scenario where microscopic nanobots will be used to repair cells, reverse aging and eliminating killer diseases such as cancer. His prediction emanates from a growing reliance on robotics, AI and biotech. This new technologies could push human lifespan beyond the current limit. These tiny machines would be implemented to perform on real-...

Scientists are still stunned by Elon Musk's plan to enable blind people to see, using his Neurolink's Brain Computer Interface chip dubbed Blindsight. Neurolink has already partnered with top Spanish scientists and US Santa Barbara to make a device called Blindsight, a smart Bionic Eye powered by brain implants and AI. Blindsight got the approval of the US Food and Drug Adminstration (FDA), though there have been no human trials. Musk confided that Neurolink will perform its first human implant of Blindsight at the course of 2025. Will Neurolink's Blindsight allow Blind People to see? Blindsight is designed to enable people with total visual impairment, as a result of damaged optic nerve but with intact visual cortex, to see. This is enhanced by bypassing the optic nerve and stimulating the visual cortex to create a visual perception. Visual cortex is part of the brain that receives, integrates and processes visual information relayed from the retina.  Blindsigh...

The sector of financial services have already adopted quantum technologies. Quantum computing is currently being deployed in fraud detection and encryption to risk forecast. This technology could transform space research, encryption, scientific discovery and artificial intelligence in ways never seen before. Apart from healthcare, quantum computers also seek to optimize complex systems, like global supply chains and traffic flow in cities. This could save resources, curtail inefficiencies and create waste-free, smarter cities.  How does quantum computing work? Contrary to traditional computers, quantum computers use qubits that incredibly handle complex calculations and faster in performance.  Traditional computers use bits which can either be 0 or 1, while quantum computers use bits which can be both 0 and 1 at the same time. This enables them handle massive data processing. Tasks that could take years to be accomplished can be done in seconds.  The emerging comp...

The real identity of the founder of Bitcoin, who is only known by the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto , has remained the greatest enigma of the digital age.  Despite varied inquiries and theories, nobody has been able to confirm who Satoshi Nakamoto real is and where he resides. No one can tell if the name represents an individual or a group of people. His name is Japanese and probably Bitcoin was developed by a person from Japan. Satoshi Nakamoto launched Bitcoin , a decentralized digital currency implemented on blockchain database, through a white paper in 2008. He continued contributing towards the project until 2011, after which he disappeared from public communication.  Since his disappearance Bitcoin has grown exponentially, yet the creator's identity is still unknown. Multiple reports indicate that Nakamoto control almost 1.1 million worth of bitcoins, currently valued at around $54.2 billion.  Despite huge fortunes, Nakamoto's Bitcoins are untouched since they wer...

Elon Musk envisiges a future where smartphones are obsolete and communication happens directly through the brain.  According to Musk, Neuralink the brain-computer interface that his company is developing, could eventually replace phones entirely. Imagine navigating the internet, sending and receiving text messages, or even making calls, all with just your thoughts. This sounds like fictional science. However, Musk believes the integration of humans and artificial intelligence is a necessary mileage for human evolution.  Neuralink’s potential extends far beyond convenience; it could disrupt the field of medicine, communication and the way we interact with technology forever. The future Musk envisions is not just coming, it's already in the pipeline. NEURALINK will make Smartphones completely obsolete. Neuralink is a company that was found by billionaire Elon Musk and develops brain-computer interface technology. Its goal is to connect the human brain to computers so as t...

Google has launched a tool meant to identify Artificial Intelligence (AI) generated content. The giant Search Engine Company made the announcement about the launch of the SynthID Detector tool during Google's I/O 2025 developer conference. SynthID Detector is a tool developed to watermark and identify content generated through AI. The detector has the ability to identify AI-generated content across various platforms. Detectable content include text, images, audio and video. Google's DeepMind developed SynthID, a watermarking technology that is directly embedded into the content in contrast to traditional metadata tags. SynthID is a browser-based verification tool that permit users to upload content and receive a probability score revealing if it is AI-generated and watermarked with SynthID. For texts, SynthID adjust patterns and create a digital signature to be detected by AI. For images, the tool subtly modify pixels in a form that is invisible to the human eye. How Gener...

Giant tech IBM has developed a powerful AI-powered chip with the ability to process images 22 times faster than the one that's currently in the market. According to IBM report, the chip architecture is based on a faster and energy efficient AI. Semiconductors play vital roles in nearly everything ranging from computing, to other electronic appliances, to communication gadgets, transportation systems, and even the critical infrastructure. The era of AI, Cloud Computing and Internet of Things has seen the rise of chip performance and energy efficiency. IBM researchers have created a computer chip, christened as NorthPole, that integrates the data it uses and the processing module. The research team confided that their study was inspired by the way human brain functions. The chip accomplishes its task by deploying a 2-dimensional array of memory blocks and interconnected CPUs. The architecture permits the computing cores to communicate directly with distant blocks in an easier way...

Semiconductors are substances that exhibit both electrical conductivity and electrical non-conductivity. How useful is a Semiconductor? They are mostly deployed in computers among other electronic appliances. They are an important component of electronic devices owing to their ability to control and manage the flow of an electric current. Semiconductors can be compounds like gallium arsenide, or pure elements like silicon or germanium. Semiconductors, also referred as Micro Chips or Integrated Circuits, are tiny fragments of Silicon and related raw materials altered through doping so that they can sometimes conduct electricity and sometimes not. Doping entails the addition of small amounts of impurities to the pure substances with the aim of causing changes in their electric conductivity. Micro Chips use a binary language that only recognizes 0s and 1s thus allowing them to be used as electric switches . Semiconductors are used in the manufacture of various electronic devices su...
