Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a stern warning against Palestine. Netanyahu disclosed on Friday that the ongoing military operation against Palestine militants would endure for “as long as necessary”.
The Prime Minister added that Hamas would pay the ultimate prize, just like any other “terrorist groups”. On its part, Hamas is not willing to surrender. Hamas military spokesman asserted that they were ready to instill Israel’s army “harsh lessons”.
Netanyahu plans to introduce an “administrative detention order” for protesters. The controversial directive would allow officials to detain people for a long time without being charged.

What triggered the violence?
The battle between Israel and Palestine was prompted when Israel police collided with Palestinians at a holy hilltop compound in East Jerusalem.
The place is respected by both the Jewish and Muslims. The place hosts Muslims’ Noble Sanctuary dubbed Haram al-Sharif and the Jewish sacred Temple Mount.
Palestinians risked eviction and had demanded for the removal of Israel police from the place and the adjacent mostly occupied Arab district of Sheikh Jarrah. When Israel remained adamant, Palestinian anger spilt when Hamas launched rockets targeting Israel.
The conflict was further powered by Israel’s annual celebration, dubbed Jerusalem Day. The event commemorates the 1967 Middle East War when East Jerusalem was captured. The deep religious beliefs among the Israelites and Palestinians activated the battle for Jerusalem.
East Jerusalem was annexed by Israel in 1980 and considers the whole city as its headquarter. However, this has not been recognized by many countries.
