IBM has unveiled a new FlashSystem that offers better performance than the previous one. The new flash system boasts of 43 percent improvement as compared to the earlier version. It has massive scalability and a transparent storage optimization, as the model allows the migration of data from existing storage to the new IBM FlashSystem model.
Information technology is the force behind the operation of successful business as most entrepreneurs largely depend on data to make meaningful operational decisions. The new FlashSystem is part of IBM’s initiative to streamline its storage portfolio with the same software and features across the brand infrastructure.
Chief Marketing officer and president of Global Storage Channels for IBM, Eric Herzog, said that: “The Flash System 5200 brings high end features to smaller enterprises, remote offices and edge computing.” He added that the FlashSystem is to streamline and give clients small, medium and big sizes of integrated systems.
According to Global Storage Channels for IBM, the technology used to make the enhanced FlashSystem permits the migration of data to and from the cloud. It provides a unified storage environment that automatically moves data between tiers to optimize performance and cost.
In a report dubbed ‘IBM FlashSystem Family: Ease of Use for All Environments’ the system will be the driving force of many businesses as it will: Increase performance of storage infrastructure by 56%, improve performance of existing applications by 55%, reduce optimization cost by 48 and reduce operational burden by 45%.
