Governments exist because of power and authority, which is wielded from its access to security apparatus. For any government to exist it must be stronger than the people it represents.
The strength of any nation is derived from the ability of the government to exercise control over the people it rules, provide a congenial environment to nurture its citizens, who in return become productive.
When the government is in total control, its authority is facilitated by the people who work and do business. The tax that the government deducts from its citizens facilitates the day-to-day running of the government. A government without money is not a government. A government without control of the security of a country is not a government.
The government referred as the ‘government’ owing to its ability to meet its own financial obligations from the proceeds of tax collection. Then the government is in a position to procure arms and ammunition that is used by the police and military to beef up the country’s security.
When the government collects tax, there are officers who do the planning. Economics will always guide the government on how to plan and spend its revenue.
