Political Leaders Mourn the Death of Kericho Deputy Governor, Susan Kikwai

Kericho Deputy Governor Susan Kikwai succumbs to Covid-related complications. She passed on while undergoing treatment at Siloam Hospital, Kericho. 
She died, on Saturday, after battling Covid-19 in hospital for 2 weeks. She was first elected as Deputy Governor in 2013, and since then she has deputized Governor Paul Chepkwony.
Leaders across the political divide have mourned the death of the deputy governor.
William Ruto: "Our country has yet again lost a progressive and consummate leader. Her Excellency Susan Kikwai — the Deputy Governor for Kericho County — was a humble yet bold and firm leader who inspired and elevated the presence and voices of women in our politics."
Margaret Kamar: "On behalf of the people of Uasin Gishu county, I wish to condole with the family, friends, colleagues and the entire county of Kericho and the country as well, for the loss of kericho Deputy Governor. Susan Kikwai, Our prayers go out to the people of Kericho."
Moses Wetangula: "Am shocked and saddened to learn of the death of D/governor of kericho Susan kikwai. Susan was a hardworking and likeable woman of substance who had distinguished herself as a selfless public servant. God bless & protect her family."
Nick Salat: "Utterly devastated to hear about the untimely death of Kericho County Deputy Governor H.E Susan Kikwai who has succumbed to Covid-19. Go well my sister."

The Judicial service Commission (JSC) began the process of seeking Kenya’s new Chief Justice (CJ) and President of the Supreme Court, on Monday April 12, 2021. 13 individuals applied for the CJ position, but after a thorough scrutiny 3 were dropped.  The process began after the clearance of ten candidates wishing to succeed former Chief Justice David Kenani Maraga.
