Why President Uhuru Kenyatta has become Unpredictable Amidst the BBI Debacle

While many Kenyans were predicting the fallout of President Uhuru Kenyatta with his handshake partner Raila Odinga, they were astounded when the two political titans traversed Nairobi in the name of inspecting various government projects.
In what appeared to be a mere public relation stunt, left many kenyans shocked by the manner in which the ODM leader, who had just been bedridden with Covid-19 infection, was blending well with the powers that be amidst the BBI fiasco.
Raila’s allies led by Siaya Senator James Orengo had cast aspersions on a section of civil servants who were allegedly planning Uhuru’s succession to the detriment of BBI.
When Raila appeared in public for the first time since he contracted Covid-19, he convened a meeting with top ODM officials where he emphasized on the imperative need of the House to approve the BBI Bill before sending it to the public.
Uhuru has become so Machiavellian of late; even most of his worthy lieutenants, with the exception of David Murathe, have failed to understand his political moves. The president is so keen in his association with Raila, without betraying the trust of the recently found One Kenya Alliance.
Raila’s ODM has severed ties with its NASA partners, which include Ford Kenya, Wiper and ANC. When Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula and Gideon Moi teamed to launch the Okoa Kenya Alliance, media speculation opined that the union had the State House blessings.
There have been so many speculations about the key personality that the so-called deep state under the auspices of President Uhuru Kenyatta would support for presidency in 2022.
At first, it was believed to be Raila Odinga, and then it was thought to be former UNCTAD secretary general Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi. At some point political pundits shifted their focus to Musalia Mudavadi, before they were mired with the conception of Okoa Kenya Alliance.

Why Ruto will heavily rely on Mudavadi, Joho in his reelection bid

When Kenya president William Ruto was almost overwhelmed with gen z revolt, his landmark decision was to dismiss the entire cabinet. This occurred immediately after his refusal to sign the Finance Bill 2024/2025. Ruto endeavored to reconstitute a new cabinet, dubbed broad-based executive. He incorporated key opposition figures drawn from the ODM Party - a move that appeased the doyen of opposition Raila Amollo Odinga. Cabinet Secretaries drawn from ODM included: Hassan Ali Joho, Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya, John Mbadi Ng'onga and James Opiyo Wandayi. ODM is as good as dead, and Raila's age factor limits him from flying the Party's presidential flag again and has opted out by contesting as Africa Union Commission (AUC) chairman. President Ruto will heavily rely on two members of his cabinet in his reelection bid. Both Musalia Mudavadi and Hassan Ali Joho are billionaires going by their own assertion while appearing before the Parliamentary Committee on Appointments. President...
