It is one of the world's most thrilling and spectacular display of wildlife behaviour.

What month is the Great Wildebeest Migration in Kenya?

The dramatic event that mostly happen in late July to September is occasioned by the crossing over of the Mara River by millions of Wildebeests all the way from Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya.

Though the migration into Masai Mara normally starts in July and ends late September, but the exact dates around this period are quite unpredictable until the first huge herds of wildebeests actually gather at the northern parts of Serengeti as they close the Mara region.

Why do wildebeest migrate from Kenya to Tanzania?

The Great Migration involves more than 1.5 million wildebeest and millions zebras tagged along with gazelles move in a constant cycle through the Serengeti to Mara ecosystem in search of nutritious grass and water.

Majorly the spectacular migration is dictated by factors such as climate change, pasture, mating and calving reasons.

The greatest migration is ensued with 'the Greatest Show on Earth' where predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah, wilddogs and hyenas  strive to showcase their mightness in hunting where the strongest survive.
