Kenya Moja alliance is set to upset the status quo and establish a long-term third force to Kenya's politics.
Main proponents of this generational struggle include Edwin Sifuna (Nairobi Senator), Caleb Amisi (Saboti MP), Gathoni Wamuchomba (Githunguri MP) and Babu Owino (Embakasi East MP).
The political grouping emerged as a show of defiance to the broad-based government arrangement which brought together, erstwhile political nemesis, Raila Odinga and president William Ruto.
History is replete of vital lessons. The current arrangement reincarnates the 2002 NARC moment.
A split opposition can't oust a ruling party. The opposition must work in solidarity to upset the 'Deep State.'
Kenya Moja is yet to be formalized as a political party, but its agenda is to unite opposition parties ahead of 2027 General Elections in a bid to unseat President Ruto.
The agenda of Kenya Moja
According to the main protagonists, the agenda of the alliance is to fight against politics of betrayal and tribalism.
The youthful leaders have coalesced to represent the anger of the youth, advocate the dreams of the unemployed youths and champion the interests of the fearless Gen-Zs.
The group seeks to incorporate veteran politicians like Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua, Mukhisa Kituyi, Justin Muturi, Kiraitu Murungi and Eugene Wamalwa.
President William Ruto will have it rough seeking re-election, owing to the shifting political allegiance after the ouster of Rigathi Gachagua as Deputy President through an impeachment process, which had the blessings of the Commander in Chief.
The battle for the populous Mt Kenya votes is up for grabs and will automatically be in favour of the opposition.
The current political alignment is likely to make Ruto a one term president.
Notably, the main agenda of Kenya Moja Alliance is to unify the opposition ahead of 2027 major political battle, and solidify their support system.
