What has triggered deep fractures within the United Opposition in Kenya


The united opposition is facing a major split ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The split of the opposition might hand president William Ruto an easy comeback in the next election.

Wiper Patriotic Front Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, purpoted as Ruto's major opponent, is allegedly abandoned as generational power brokers align themselves with the government.

According to insiders, Uhuru Kenyatta is behind the disintegration of the opposition as he mentors Matiang'i to take over from Ruto in 2032.

Uhuru's camp is secretly reorganizing under Dr Fred Matiang'i, Eugene Wamalwa, Charity Ngilu and Peter Munya.

Kalonzo is clinging on the support of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua - an alliance that is steadfastly losing both sympathy and traction.

 The recent meeting between Matiang'i and Ruto in Qatar wasn't coincidental, but was well planned. This was a clear signal of a discreet alignment that could reshape Kenya's political landscape.

Uhuru's powerful network is quietly coalescing and consolidating around Matiang'i, in a well choreographed manoeuvre ahead of the 2032 succession plan.

Constitutionally, president Ruto will be barred from contesting in 2032 due to the exhaustion of his two-term presidential limit.
