Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party is set to be bludgeoned back to the drawing board against the wish of the broad-based government arrangement.
Severe cracks have been witnessed within the party as it celebrates its 20th anniversary.
Siaya Governor James Orengo dropped the bombshell and said he is ready to go back to the street and won't entertain being in the current government.
Orengo blasted some ODM members who were of the opinion that the party needed the support of Ruto.
"There are people in the party behaving as if ODM needs Ruto, it is Ruto that needs ODM because he has failed," Orengo claimed.
His views were echoed by Winnie Odinga.
"ODM was born from protest, it was raised in resistance and the people of ODM have time and time again bled, sweat and shed tears for this country called Kenya," Winnie Odinga said.
ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has consistently proclaimed that the Party will not support the reelection of president William Ruto.
The growing number of anti-Ruto crusaders within ODM is due to the pressure mounted to the party from grassroot supporters.
Sooner than later, the song against Ruto within ODM party might be louder as Raila's revolutionary legacy lives on.
