Safaricom approves Purchase of NSE stock via Mpesa App

Safaricom has launched Ziidi Trader, a feature on the M-PESA app that allows users to buy and sell shares listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) directly from their mobile wallets.

This move aims to democratize investing and inject new liquidity into the local market. With Ziidi Trader, users can trade shares without opening a traditional brokerage account, and transactions are settled instantly through M-PESA.

Key Features:

1. Frictionless Finance Access: Users can buy and sell shares with zero paperwork and no need for a third-party broker account.

2. Real-time Tracking: Users can track prices and portfolio performance in real-time.

3. Digital Onboarding: Users can onboard and verify themselves digitally.

This launch is part of Safaricom's broader strategy to transform M-PESA into a full-fledged digital finance platform, combining money transfers, savings, credit, and investments under one ecosystem.
