Anyang' Nyong'o wades in on ODM's Generational Contest

Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o is calling for unity within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, urging members to respect each other and adhere to the party's core values of democracy, inclusivity and social justice. 

His remarks come as the party prepares for its National Delegates Conference (NDC) on March 27, 2026, amid internal divisions and competing interests.

Nyong'o, a founding member and former Secretary General of ODM, emphasized the importance of mutual respect among party members, saying, "As a leader, I believe we must encourage everyone to speak their mind. Differences of opinion do not mean division".

The internal strife is largely centered around the proposed pre-election coalition pact with President William Ruto's United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, which has created factions within ODM. 

Nyong'o's appeal for unity is seen as an attempt to address the growing concerns about the party's cohesion and public image.

The Kisumu governor is the one who, reportedly, introduced Edwin Sifuna to ODM politics.

  Scientists are still stunned by Elon Musk's plan to enable blind people to see, using his Neurolink's Brain Computer Interface chip dubbed Blindsight.
