Kalonzo, Gachagua denied entry at a Church Service attended by DP Kindiki
Kalonzo Musyoka, Rigathi Gachagua and Justin Muturi were denied entry to a church service at Kaaga Methodist Church in Meru County, where Deputy President Kithure Kindiki was attending.
The opposition leaders had been invited to the ordination service of Bishop David Mwiti Muthuiya, but were escorted out by anti-riot police officers.
The police claimed they were asked to leave, sparking tensions between the opposition and government factions.
The incident has drawn criticism from Kalonzo, who blamed Kindiki for the move, calling it a violation of constitutional freedoms. The opposition leaders later attended an alternative church service at the East Africa Pentecostal Church.
Later on, Kalonzo Musyoka issued a statement castigating the police for receiving command from Deputy President Kithure Kindiki to block them.
Kalonzo termed the act as unconstitutional and repressive.
