Oburu relocates ODM Party Offices to new Location after eviction from Capitol Hill
Reliable reports indicate that Dr. Oburu Odinga, the current leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), has relocated the party's operational base after being denied access to the historic Capitol Hill offices in Nairobi's Upper Hill area.
The Capitol Hill building (often referred to as Capitol Hill Square or JOOF in some contexts) was long associated with Raila Odinga's political activities and considered a symbolic nerve center for ODM.
Following Raila Odinga's passing, access to the premises has reportedly been restricted by family members, particularly his daughter Winnie Odinga, who has described it as personal family property rather than party-owned. This has effectively barred Oburu and current ODM leadership from using it, with the offices now under lock and key.
As a result, party operations have shifted to a new location: a secluded office on Riverside Drive in Nairobi.
Multiple sources describe this as a quiet but significant change, marking the abandonment of efforts to continue from Capitol Hill.
This development appears tied to internal family and party dynamics post-Raila's death, including claims over property ownership and access restrictions.
