Coup in Uhuru’s Mt Kenya Backyard, as Moses Kuria Feats

Uhuru Kenyatta’s popularity in Mount Kenya is under major test as Ruto and allies gain significant political mileage in the region.  The recent by-elections have revealed a major paradigm shift in the Mt Kenya voting pattern, sending signals that the region no longer embrace their purported Kingpin Uhuru Kenyatta. The region had been predominantly known for following the wish of their Master, but things are gradually changing. The election outcome combined with High Court ruling on BBI has been a big blow to Uhuru and associates. Goerge Koimburi of PEP hammered Jubilee’s Susan Waititu in the concluded Juja mini polls. PEP is a Party associated with Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, who is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto.  DP Ruto allies including Moses Kuria, Irungu Kang’ata, Ndindi Nyoro and Rigathi Gachagua have celebrated Juja’s electoral victory. Why Kenyans Have Lost Trust with the Public Transport System

Photo: Kitale Bus Stage There was a recent report that categorized Kenyans as among the unhappy lot. One of the contributing factors to this report is loss of trust to the public transport system.  The public transport system in Kenya is one of the most disorganized and mismanaged service industries. Former transport Minister John Michuki once intervened and restored sanity in the public transport department. Michuki was hailed for limiting the number of passengers in a vehicle, introducing speed governors for Public Service Vehicles (PSVs), and requiring every driver and conductor to have uniform among other measures. Michuki also ordered all public service vehicles to install seat belts and have a yellow line. Passengers were supposed to fasten their safety belts while on transit. The no nonsense minister who served in former president Mwai Kibaki’s cabinet cracked down on thousands of vehicles that were not roadworthy. Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i an...

Uhuru, Raila Lock Horns, Mini Polls Reveal

The much anticipated Raila, Uhuru fallout is imminent. The recently concluded by-elections reveal a glaring disparity between the handshake partners.  Unlike previous mini polls where Jubilee withdrew its candidature in support of ODM and vice versa, the latest development indicates that things have fallen apart. BBI stalemate and President Uhuru Kenyatta’s silence over the issue raise has attracted scrutiny, as DP Ruto’s camp gain political mileage. The flip-flopping Attorney General Paul Kihara confirms the hidden agenda of depicting the process as executive driven, which is a major legal hurdle. The architects have to proof the document as being driven through a popular initiative and debunk the High Court verdict. Uhuru’s commitment to BBI is dubious. There is more than what is in the public domain.  Mini Polls Confirm Uhuru, Raila Fallout In the mini elections, ODM won the Bonchari constituency seat amid tough competition from Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party a...

There have been worrying concerns over proper legal channels towards protecting innovations.  Makate alleged that Vodacom had stolen his idea after he shared the concept with his employer. The 1977 born South African native filed a case against Vodacom and won it after a record 8-year court battle. ‘Please Call Me’ service is used by Safaricom subscribers in Kenya as a message to request the other party to call you, when your airtime is below call...
