How Political Hypocrisy, Deceit has infiltrated Kenya's Leadership

Hypocrisy exacerbated by intolerance on the part of the political leadership is rampant in Kenya. Hatred is being trickled down from the top as political titans test their numerical strength. Some places are becoming hostile to some leaders as certain leaders opt to fanning catalysts of venomous vendetta.
Kenya’s political scenery is characterized by hypocrisy, deceit, malice and egocentricity. As ODM leader Raila Odinga seeks to reconnoiter his ties with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Jubilee wing dubbed ‘kieleweke’, the scion of Jaramogi is never leaving anything to chance in making BBI referendum a reality.
Uhuru on his part is trying to convince his Mt Kenya region to adopt BBI highlighting its benefits and thrashing those opposed to the document. In the recent past, Uhuru audaciously told his Mt Kenya support stronghold not to misconstrue BBI as a document meant to benefit Raila.
The bridge has widened, instead of being built by the building bridges initiative (BBI). To Raila, BBI seems to be a do-or-die event and must pass at all costs so as to maintain his national outlook. On the other hand deputy president William Ruto, who has severed ties with his boss, is on a mission to send Odinga to political limbo.
The rivalry between Ruto and Raila is turning nasty and spilling its devastating effects to their supporters, right from the honorable MPS exchanging fist-fights at the full glare of the media, down to the common man.
Raila has been synonymous with opposition for long. He has a history of breaking ruling parties. In 2002, he led KANU adherents out of KANU in protest of the anointment of Uhuru to fill the shoes of the then president Daniel Arap Moi. Raila Odinga, George Saitoti, Moody Awori, Kalonzo Musyoka and Joseph Kamotho among others left KANU en masse and joined hands with NAC to propel Mwai Kibaki to the helm of leadership.
Currently, Jubilee is in pieces as Ruto’s allies are shifting allegiance to a new political outfit dubbed UDA. Uhuru has been trying to use all means possible to countenance Ruto’s surging popularity, particularly in his Central backyard. The origin of their political enmity was triggered by the ‘golden handshake’ between the president and Raila.
The opposition is currently swallowed by the pride of its dalliance with the powers-that-be. There is no viable opposition in Kenya to put the government on checks. It seems as if Kenya has started testing the waters of the times when “the presidential election winner will not be taking it all” as advocated by BBI crusaders.
When ODM started working with Jubilee, the question that most Kenyans kept on asking themselves on social media is, “why is Raila not criticizing the government when it is messing up? Since the much hyped Harambee handshake, the president has ignored several court orders, the government continues to over borrow and corruption has skyrocketed to a staggering loss of kshs.2billion daily due to graft.
In his attempt to mudsling Ruto, Raila has, on numerous occasions, been criticizing the government with close reference to the deputy president, instead of applying the same standards to the president. On the hand, Ruto is imputing Raila over the failures of the government to deliver its mandate to the people of Kenya.
The deputy president perceives Raila has an intruder who hijacked the government’s big four agenda with the ‘BBI reggae.'

Why Matiang'i comeback threatens Ruto's re-election bid

Former Interior cabinet secretary Dr. Fred Matiang'i is a great rival to President William Ruto in his 2027 re-election contest. Matiang'i is set to give Ruto a run for his money, owing to his track record as a cabinet secretary in the previous regime.  Former President Uhuru Kenyatta trusted Matiang'i more than any other cabinet secretary due to his workaholic nature and might be forced to finance his presidential quest.  The former Interior CS is reportedly eyeing the presidential seat on a Jubilee ticket, as alluded by the party's secretary general Jeremiah Kioni. Ruto's dalliance with the doyen of opposition politics and ODM party leader Raila Odinga had complicated the opposition's quest to unseat the sitting Head of State. Matiang'i comeback seals the vaccum left by Raila's departure. Why Ruto might lose Kenya's presidential seat in 2027 Ahead of 2022 general elections in Kenya , President William Ruto promised Kenyans heaven on Earth onl...

Public Seal transfer: Inside Ruto's plot to secretly sell State Parastatals

The reason why the Public Seal was allegedly transferred from the Attorney General office to the Chief of Staff in the office of the President of Kenya is yet to be known with quite a number of contradictory remarks. Phode News Hub delved deeper and unearthed imponderable dirty corrupt schemes and conspiracy to privatize State parastatals through illegitimate means.  Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru alleged that the Public Seal is in the custody of the Head of Public Service, Felix Kipatarus Koskei. All commercial engagements and accords will allegedly be sealed by Koskei on behalf of Kenya government. Kenya is glaring at the risks of  being auctioned by a person who lacks the legal knowledge to discern what should be sealed and what should not. According to the Attorney General Act 2012, Section 28 specifically provides that, “The Attorney-General shall have custody of the public seal of the Republic of Kenya." Standard Media exclusively reported that President William Ruto sec...
