Kenyans rekindle Memories of the Founder of the Hustler Movement, Larry Flynt, on his Burial Day

Kenyans turned to twitter in expressing their opinions over the life and achievements of Larry Flynt dubbed as the ‘Chief Hustler.’ Flynt died on Februray 10, 2021 and buried on February 20, 2021, was a founder of the Hustler Magazine that published pornographic content.
Curious Kenyans dug into Flynt’s past due to the ongoing narrative peddled by deputy president William Ruto, who regards himself as the ‘Chief Hustler’, in his bid to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta. Ruto believes that it’s the time for the ‘hustlers’ to lead Kenya, thus creating a wedge between him with Uhuru Kenyatta, Gideon Moi and Raila Odinga.
Flynt minted billions by publishing and selling nude images. According to Wikipedia, Flynt was the CEO of Larry Flynt Publications that produced pornographic magazines like the Hustler and pornographic videos.in 2003 he was listed as the most influential people in ‘porn’ list by the Arena Magazine.
He was once accused for degrading women. Flynt sustained serious injuries in 1978 after an assassination plot by serial killer Joseph Paul Franklin.
Reports indicate that Flynt once contested for the US presidential race in 1984 as a Republican using the ‘Hustler narrative’ but was defeated. Kenyans expressed varied reactions on social media pressing for the commemoration of Flynt, with the hash tag #RIPHasla going viral on twitter.
One twitter user wrote: “I think Kenya should hold a parallel requiem mass to commemorate the life and achievements of the founder of the Hustler movement; Larry Flynt.”
