President Uhuru Kenyatta has directly told William Ruto to resign instead of criticizing the government from within. The infuriated president was speaking on Friday at Uthiru where he had gone to launch a new hospital that was constructed by Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS).
The Head of State accused his deputy of criticizing the government and then purport to take credit on the government’s developmental record.
“On one hand he is saying the government has failed and on the other hand he is saying we as a government have done this and that development. That is doublespeak,” Uhuru stated. He went ahead warn him to choose between working in the government or resign.
The president implored his deputy to have respect to the government so that the country can have peace.
Uhuru was accompanied by NMS Director General Mohammed Badi, Nairobi deputy governor Ann Mwenda Kananu among other leaders. The President’s utterances come days after he revealed that he would not hand over power to ‘thieves.’
Uhuru had earlier alleged that the government was losing kshs.2billion shillings daily. He claimed that those opposed to Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) were the ones responsible for the loss of money from the public coffers. It is no longer a secret that Uhuru and Ruto are reading from different political scripts.
