Raila’s ‘I won’t endorse anyone’ Remarks Spark Acrimony from his NASA Counterparts

ODM leader Raila Odinga has received sharp backlash over his remarks that he “won’t endorse anyone.” Raila had accused his NASA colleagues for failing to show up at his illegal swearing-in at Uhuru Park. Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC Party released a statement on Sunday in reaction to Raila’s sentiments.
“It’s not our wish to get into a spat with Raila. However, it’s important that Raila learn to speak the truth. Mr Raila knows what he alleges against his colleagues is exactly what he did to them – lied to them before sneaking to Uhuru Park,” the statement read in parts.
The message further read: “In Raila’s own words, he faked a swearing-in to accelerate his yearning for a handshake with Uhuru.”
In a similar tone Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka lambasted Raila and said that he could not have participated in an illegal and unconstitutional oath.
Earlier on, Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula articulated that Raila ought to return his favor for the decade-old support they had given him.
Raila Odinga has hinted of a new coalition and brushed off the idea of supporting anyone else. As the battle for Uhuru’s succession rages on, politics of betrayal and deceit seem to have taken space. Just like Raila and his NASA colleagues, President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto are also reading from different political scripts.
On his part, Ruto ruled out the idea of pitching for endorsement and attributed the power of authorization to the people of Kenya. In an analogous cadence, Kalonzo changed tact and echoed Ruto’s phrase for not pursuing for Raila’s endorsement.

Why Ruto will heavily rely on Mudavadi, Joho in his reelection bid

When Kenya president William Ruto was almost overwhelmed with gen z revolt, his landmark decision was to dismiss the entire cabinet. This occurred immediately after his refusal to sign the Finance Bill 2024/2025. Ruto endeavored to reconstitute a new cabinet, dubbed broad-based executive. He incorporated key opposition figures drawn from the ODM Party - a move that appeased the doyen of opposition Raila Amollo Odinga. Cabinet Secretaries drawn from ODM included: Hassan Ali Joho, Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya, John Mbadi Ng'onga and James Opiyo Wandayi. ODM is as good as dead, and Raila's age factor limits him from flying the Party's presidential flag again and has opted out by contesting as Africa Union Commission (AUC) chairman. President Ruto will heavily rely on two members of his cabinet in his reelection bid. Both Musalia Mudavadi and Hassan Ali Joho are billionaires going by their own assertion while appearing before the Parliamentary Committee on Appointments. President...
