Why Former UNCTAD Secretary General, Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi, is Well-Placed to Succeed President Uhuru

Kenya’s politics is gradually becoming toxic as 2022 draws nigh. The assumption of a two-race affair exacerbates the situation as deputy president William Ruto takes the challenge to countenance the influence of his possible rival Raila Odinga.
The entry of former trade and industry minister and immediate former secretary general for United Nations conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Dr Mukhisa Kituyi into the presidential contest might be a blessing in disguise as it will tone down the country’s division among ‘hustlers’ and ‘dynasties.’
Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi is well placed to become the fifth President of Kenya. The former Kimilili legislator is well-hoisted above the local plebeian, cast in an international image, ready to chauffer Kenya to the global scene.
UNCTAD pitched Dr Mukhisa Kituyi on its  official website as a person who “has an extensive background as an elected official, an academic and a holder of high government office. He also has wide-ranging experience in trade negotiations and in African and broader international economics and diplomacy.” 
During his political stint, before the UN debut, Dr. Kituyi was never involved in any known scandal. Above all, he is an academician and a seasoned politician who understands Kenya’s political matrix. Some people might mistake him to a political newbie, but he is better placed to tone down the narrative pitting ODM leader against the deputy president.
Jubilee government has been a disappointment to many Kenyans. The country’s progress is currently mired in over-borrowing, rampant corruption and rising unemployment rates. The country’s economy is in doldrums, as the government deviates on its agenda to trumpet support for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
Kenyans should make prudent decision in 2022 and desist from being driven by tribal bigotry, ethnic balkanization and elect a leader who is capable to reverse the ruins caused by the ‘drowsy ‘Jubilee administration.

Public Seal transfer: Inside Ruto's plot to secretly sell State Parastatals

Madaraka Day event where Government bent to the whims of the Opposition

  President William Ruto led Kenyans in the celebration of the 62nd Madaraka Day at Raila Odinga stadium in Homa Bay County on Sunday.
