Why Lamu Senator Dumped Sonko’s Daughter, Saumu Mbuvi

Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip and the daughter of Mike Sonko, Saumu Mbuvi have proclaimed their separation following persistent wrangles and disagreement. Saumu alluded that she had been victim of domestic violence while living with Loitiptip.
“He almost killed me. I will forever fight for women to stand for their rights. Never allow a man to be violent to you,” Saumu was quoted saying. In a rejoinder, Loitiptip reacted by saying that Saumu was suffering from bipolar disorder just like her father.
Saumu broke the news on her Instagram account after being asked to clarify over the rumor of their separation. She also clarified that she wasn’t officially married to the senator.  She described the senator has an irresponsible man who “cannot even take care of his own child.”
Ironically, Saumu went ahead thanking God for having been born a hustler. A number of social media users allege that Loitiptip might have married Saumu, owing to her father’s position as Nairobi governor and proximity to State power. Their separation comes a few months after Mike Sonko was successfully impeached as the governor of Nairobi.
Sonko was ‘fired’ after he fell out with Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS). His position is set to be filled by Ann Kananu, who is currently serving as a deputy governor.

When Kenya president William Ruto was almost overwhelmed with gen z revolt, his landmark decision was to dismiss the entire cabinet. This occurred immediately after his refusal to sign the Finance Bill 2024/2025. Ruto endeavored to reconstitute a new cabinet, dubbed broad-based executive. He incorporated key opposition figures drawn from the ODM Party - a move that appeased the doyen of opposition Raila Amollo Odinga. Cabinet Secretaries drawn from ODM included: Hassan Ali Joho, Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya, John Mbadi Ng'onga and James Opiyo Wandayi. ODM is as good as dead, and Raila's age factor limits him from flying the Party's presidential flag again and has opted out by contesting as Africa Union Commission (AUC) chairman. President Ruto will heavily rely on two members of his cabinet in his reelection bid. Both Musalia Mudavadi and Hassan Ali Joho are billionaires going by their own assertion while appearing before the Parliamentary Committee on Appointments. President...
