Egyptian Brokered Ceasefire halts 11-Day Israel Palestine Conflict

Israel Palestine conflict came to a tumultuous halt after Egypt brokered a truce on Thursday.

The end of war came in the wake of increased international call for ceasefire. Egyptian brokered ceasefire came into effect on Friday.

News of ceasefire was met with celebration from Palestinians. Hundreds gathered to celebrate end of conflict at Al Aqsa Mosque after Morning Prayer. Israel stated that Egypt pleaded for the end in conflict and the agreement “will be mutual and unconditional”.

Some leaders have criticized Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over destroying infrastructures in Gaza.

Israel security Cabinet approved the truce to ending offensive on Gaza after heeding to Egypt’s demand. Egypt plans to send delegation to Israel and Palestine to monitor upholding of ceasefire.

According to Al Jazeera News Network, 233 Palestinians have succumbed to Israel attacks, including 65 children. Rockets fired from Gaza have killed 12 people in Israel within the 11 horrible days.

There were fewer fatalities in Israel, credit to their state of the art Iron Dome Defense System that repulsed rocket assaults. The Israel Military had precision tools to bomb specific targets such as buildings and few hideouts.

Hamas rocket attack from populated areas was a humanitarian violation, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres complained. The UN CEO was equally shocked with “Israel bombardment on Gaza”.

Guteress was moved by the lives of children who perish in Gaza after attack. “If there’s hell on earth, then it is the lives of children in Gaza,” UN Secretary General Guteress lamented.

Israel Military is acclaimed as the second most equipped in the world, after US. Israelis battle for the full ownership of Jerusalem has always generated a rift between them and Palestinians.

US President Joe Biden has committed to working with UN in humanitarian support in Gaza. US Secretary General Antony Blinken Plans trip to Middle East after truce.

UN Security Council had convened a special meeting to discuss the Israel Palestine conflict and deliberate on the end in conflict.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson welcomed news of ceasefire in Israel Gaza conflict and urged the regional leaders to find a durable solution that prevents terrorism and stop the cycle of conflict.

Johnson’s statement coincided with an appeal from British Labor MP Richard Burgon to UK government to impose sanctions on the Israel government and stop its weaponry sale to the country over its bombardment on Gaza.

Why Ruto will heavily rely on Mudavadi, Joho in his reelection bid

When Kenya president William Ruto was almost overwhelmed with gen z revolt, his landmark decision was to dismiss the entire cabinet. This occurred immediately after his refusal to sign the Finance Bill 2024/2025. Ruto endeavored to reconstitute a new cabinet, dubbed broad-based executive. He incorporated key opposition figures drawn from the ODM Party - a move that appeased the doyen of opposition Raila Amollo Odinga. Cabinet Secretaries drawn from ODM included: Hassan Ali Joho, Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya, John Mbadi Ng'onga and James Opiyo Wandayi. ODM is as good as dead, and Raila's age factor limits him from flying the Party's presidential flag again and has opted out by contesting as Africa Union Commission (AUC) chairman. President Ruto will heavily rely on two members of his cabinet in his reelection bid. Both Musalia Mudavadi and Hassan Ali Joho are billionaires going by their own assertion while appearing before the Parliamentary Committee on Appointments. President...
