The First non-Kikuyu, non-Kalenjin that will Rule Kenya

Opinions are shaped by facts and facts will always remain sacred. As politicians realign ahead of 2022 succession battle, there is emerging a new crop of State influencers out to determine who will succeed President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta

State House operative Nancy Gitau is touted as the power behind the wheel influencing Uhuru’s succession plans. Nancy is a State House employee since the era of retired president Mwai Kibaki

The president is using proxies to block the surging popularity of deputy president William Samoei Ruto. Just like in the past when state machineries would be marshaled to countenance the popularity of opposition leader Raila Amollo Odinga.

The coronation of national assembly Speaker Justin B Muturi, wasn’t a workout in vanity. Mt Kenya region will soon heed to the reality on the ground and rally behind Muturi.

It’s incipient that Central region, through the Head of State wants to pay the political debt, owed to their counterparts from Mt Kenya East.

Mt Kenya East includes Meru, Embu and Tharaka Nithi Counties. The three Counties have expressed their unwavering political support to Central region since the inception of multipartysm in Kenya in 1991.

If things go as planned, Muturi is poised to inherit the vote rich region from Uhuru.

When Uhuru stated at the funeral of Musalia Mudavadi’s mother, he emphasized that it was time for a tribe that has never governed to rule Kenya.

Speaker Muturi is the third in command, after the President and the Deputy President. Uhuru is left only with less than 13 months to exit the coveted seat in the country. Muturi is eying for promotion and the only options left for him are presidency and deputy presidency.

The former Siakago legislator is best placed to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta, despite coming from the minority Mbeere community found in Embu County. Muturi got a major boost, when governors Kiraitu Murungi (Meru), Martin Wambora (Embu) and Muthomi Njuki (Tharaka Nithi) endorsed his new role as Mt Kenya spokesman.

Kenyatta’s family might be working behind the scenes to influence Uhuru’s succession. Uhuru’s Cousin Kung’u Muigai voiced his concern over Muturi’s coronation and affirmed that he will be the mouthpiece of the president.

Last May, Kung’u visited DP Ruto at his Karen home. Panic engulfed Ruto’s camp when the president’s Cousin led a delegation of elders to endorse Speaker Muturi.

Some sources confirm that there is a fresh plan to take Muturi to a shrine in Mt Kenya forest where he will be crowned as the regional leader.

It is evident that Uhuru wants to select his preferred heir-to-the-throne. In his quest to determine who to bequeath the presidential baton, Uhuru has managed to attract his erstwhile political nemesis like Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi.

Just like his father Jomo Kenyatta, Uhuru has adopted the divide and rule strategy to push his principal assistant to the periphery of governance issues. Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i was strategically deployed by Uhuru to undertake Ruto’s role in government.

The purported deep state continues to isolate and alienate the second in command. On his part, Ruto endures incessant political foray in the president’s backyard.

Hurdles on Speaker Muturi’s way

Muturi is facing multiple resistances in Mt Kenya region. Prior to his coronation at Mukuru Wa Nyagathanga shrines in Murang’a County a host of leaders led by Murang’a governor Mwangi Wa Iria threatened to block the event.

A heavy contingent of policemen present at the venue thwarted any efforts to barricade the coronation of Speaker Justin Muturi as the de facto Mt Kenya leader to replace Uhuru.

Weeks after his coronation, a host of Agikuyu Elders largely drawn from Murang’a County planned on how to cleanse the holy shrine, terming Muturi’s coronation as an exercise in futility.

Some political leaders from Mt Kenya started scheming on how to oust the National Assembly Speaker from the House position over his purported political involvement.

How Human Noise Kills Marine Species, as revealed by Scientists

Scientists have warned that the discord of noise made by humans is harming marine species .  A comprehensive assessment revealed that large noise from human activities was as harmful as pollution, overfishing and climate change .  The study that was conducted by the Journal Science exposed how marine animals can hear from far distances than they can see or smell. According to a report published in the Guardian, most of the marine life uses sound to catch prey as well as attracting a mating partner.  Prof Carlos Duarte of King Abdullah University in Saudi Arabia argued that: “Marine animal can only sea up to around 10 meters, smell up to around a hundred meters, but they can hear across the entire ocean basins.” The research concluded that sound “is very important in the marine ecosystems, and noise is pervasive, affecting animals at all levels .” The increasing cacophony in the marine habitat is interfering with how marine animals respond to various survival...

Why Ruto will heavily rely on Mudavadi, Joho in his reelection bid

When Kenya president William Ruto was almost overwhelmed with gen z revolt, his landmark decision was to dismiss the entire cabinet. This occurred immediately after his refusal to sign the Finance Bill 2024/2025. Ruto endeavored to reconstitute a new cabinet, dubbed broad-based executive. He incorporated key opposition figures drawn from the ODM Party - a move that appeased the doyen of opposition Raila Amollo Odinga. Cabinet Secretaries drawn from ODM included: Hassan Ali Joho, Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya, John Mbadi Ng'onga and James Opiyo Wandayi. ODM is as good as dead, and Raila's age factor limits him from flying the Party's presidential flag again and has opted out by contesting as Africa Union Commission (AUC) chairman. President Ruto will heavily rely on two members of his cabinet in his reelection bid. Both Musalia Mudavadi and Hassan Ali Joho are billionaires going by their own assertion while appearing before the Parliamentary Committee on Appointments. President...
