Kenya President William Ruto is on a vengeful mission, using State Power to wrestle his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta and attempting to crush the opposition.
Recent scenario in which thousands of people stormed Uhuru's Northlands farm in Ruiru, without police alert, is something that speaks volume.
The government was fully aware of the raid and might have had a secret hand in it.
Opposition leaders led by Raila Odinga castigated the act.
The attack occured days after National Assembly Majority Leader, who doubles as Kikuyu MP, Kimani Ichungwah sent retaliation signals to the street protests organized by the opposition.
Ichungwah had stated that if the protests would lead to stealing and vandalism of people's properties, then their supporters might also be prompted to destroy properties of key opposition leaders and their alleged funder, Uhuru Kenyatta.
The Kenyatta family owns vast land in diverse parts of Kenya.
Just after the Northlands farm attack, the maasai community in Narok are also claiming his Kikuno farm, which they purport to be theirs.
Circle of Political revenge
When Ruto was Uhuru's deputy and principal assistant, he was sidelined and isolated. He was distanced from enjoying State Power, and Matiang'i got elevated functioning as DP in proxy.
At one point the former regime altered the security of the Deputy President and replaced the elite GSU recce squad with the Administration Police.
Uhuru elevated former Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang'i, and he acted as the prefect of all Cabinet Secretaries.
Matiang'i alongside former Interior PS Dr Karanja Kibicho used their proximity to State House to frustrate Ruto.
Fast forward: In 2023, police officers stormed Matiangi's home at Karen. He was then summoned to the DCI over alleged land scam.
Matiang'i was later forced to dance to the State tune under the command of one William Ruto.
President William Ruto seems to have adapted his predecessors tactics of molesting others for political support.
Raila Odinga suffered a major setback after a sizeable number of Jubilee legislators ditched him after electoral defeat and chose to work with the government.
Key Jubilee leaders led by EALA legislator Kanini Kega and nominated MP Sabina Chege are among those who defected their Azimio allegiance to Kenya Kwanza.
