Wiper Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has revealed a squad that the government is using to abduct opposition leaders.
“There is an abduction squad operating in this country, and we go by what Rigathi Gachagua said last night: that there is a special squad designed to ensure there is no opposition in Kenya,” Kalonzo alleged.
He attacked the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja over the involvement of the police in the kidnapping of opposition figures.
The Wiper Leader, who is a former vice president of Kenya, fired at the Kenya Kwanza regime led by President William Ruto that they will be sent home over human rights violations.
Kalonzo issued a press statement a day after Juja legislator George Koimburi, who had been abducted on his way from church, was found unconscious in a coffee plantation.
Koimburi is among the legislators who are staunch supporters of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
In a statement signed by joint opposition leaders, Kalonzo highlighted the call for immediate end to abductions and interference of the freedom to assemble.
Kalonzo blamed the government over its politicization of the security apparatus and using it to disperse a peaceful assembly at Kakamega and peaceful protests like the one held in condemnation of the leasing of Nzoia Sugar Company to a private entity.
The opposition also highlighted major data breaches of Telco surveillance and pressed the government to stop that practice.
Giant telecommunication company, Safaricom, has been accused of aiding the government in tracking down individuals enabling them to be easily netted by the abduction squad.
Why President Ruto is scared of the opposition
President William Ruto is a marked man. About a year after the Gen-Zs protests, Ruto is staring a solidified opposition with his former principal assistant at the core.
Ruto is Keen to crash opposition elements, disorganize them, disassemble them, ultimately sending them back to the drawing board.
The exit of Rigathi Gachagua from government automatically denies him the populous Central Kenya votes.
In Western, the rise of Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya is another headache to Ruto-led regime.
The recent arrest of the former Rift Valley Regional Coordinator, who is currently a rising-starred politician in the Western region, was politically motivated.
Arthmetically, luhya votes is second to the agikuyu votes. Losing the two important vote-rich regions, might be politically catastrophic on the side of Ruto.
If Gachagua will solidify the agikuyu votes, Natembeya the luhya votes and cast it into a single vote basket, then 2027 will be a walkover for the opposition to form the next government.
